“This is my latest weekly update as we continue the fight against Coronavirus.

I’d first like to send my thoughts to the young mother of 4 children who was stabbed repeatedly in Erdington High Street. There is no place for savage attacks like this is our community and I hope those responsible will be held fully to account. I have spoken with the Police and know they are carrying out a thorough investigation.

Other updates this week:

Completed the Erdington Care Home Survey – with some shocking results
Wrote to the CEO’s of the 6 biggest supermarkets asking them to make special arrangements for care homes and their staff
Worked with businesses and trade unions to save jobs and stop businesses collapsing
Worked with the Erdington Task Force to help develop their befriending service – supporting those who are isolated during the lock down period
Spoken regularly to the Police to get updates on crime in the local area
Worked with the charitable and voluntary sector, and the other Birmingham MPs, to secure additional money to support the sector through this crisis

The attitude and commitment of the people of Erdington to help the vulnerable in our community make it though this time of crisis has been utterly heart-warming. Thank you to everyone who is playing their part in ensuring we all make it through these tough times.”
