Jack Dromey MP for Erdington visited Connexions in Erdington. In November 2010 Connexions closed their shop front operation on Erdington High Street, because of Birmingham City Council cuts. Jack led the successful battle, however, to maintain the Connexions service in Erdington and Connexions now run services out of five bases in north Birmingham which they call the Connexions North Outreach Service.
Jack said: “The work done by Connexions in this area must continue. As I have seen firsthand, they provide a valuable service to young people looking to find employment and training. At a time when nearly 1 in 4 young people in Erdington are unemployed, the service Connexions provides has never been needed more.”
